The individual who nominated Hope Woodruff stated:

“Hope meets all of the qualifications for the Champion of Character award, but more specifically I would nominate her for “caring”. She is compassionate and understanding. She shows acts of kindness, expresses gratitude, asks for and gives forgiveness to others, including teachers. Hope recognizes the impact her actions can have on others and is empathetic.”
The individual who nominated Kelly Furgison stated:

"Kelly is an amazing role model for anyone who is interested in music, and even things that have nothing to do with music.  Her ability as a leader just blows me away.  She is one of the most respected students at Copenhagen Central School."
The individual who nominated Ms. Evans stated:

“Ms. Evans is a teacher who is not fully appreciated, but she is always there for her students when they need her the most. Ms. Evans does her utmost to help her students succeed whether they are preparing for the English Regents or for college applications. Along with being an integral part of the school, she has a major positive impact in the community as the Reverend at Grace Episcopal Church. She assists in many community events like Copenhagen Community Day and Stone Soup Community dinners. Because Ms. Evans truly cares about her students and the community, she deserves to be recognized for her efforts to inspire excellence.

We are pleased to announce that the Copenhagen Champion of Character Award winners for the third quarter are Ashley Stephens and Wendy Colton. Ashley is in the 5th grade and Wendy is in the 11th grade.

The individual who nominated Ashley stated:

“Ashley Stephens—she is nice,
she shares and she sticks up for others.”
Ashley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jeff Alberry and Mr. Earl Stephens.
The individual who nominated Wendy
stated:

“ Wendy is a student who is
respectful to all students around her.
Recently, a new student entered school
and Wendy stepped up to help the new
student find her classes. Wendy accompanied
the new student and was there
when the student needed help. It was
greatly appreciated by the student’s family.
Wendy has a fun and happy attitude
and stands up to bullies in the school.
She is very deserving of this award.
Wendy goes out of her way to help
younger kids with their homework in the
library after school.”
The individual who nominated Mrs.
Fazio stated:

“Mrs. Fazio is well known and
loved by all of her students. She is not
only in the library with students on a
daily basis but also tends to many other
duties throughout the school. Students
from kindergarten through seniors gravitate
to her. She is not only known for
her love of the library and books, but is
also known for the compassion and understanding
she has for her students.
You’ll catch her commenting on just
which student will enjoy a certain book
that has recently arrived. She cares
about the library, our students, staff and
community. That is a wonderful thing.
We, as a community, are lucky to have
her here.”
